Yes, it’s true, people love a summer wedding but there are plenty of reasons to love a fall wedding too. The cooler temps won’t melt your makeup and wilt your hair plus fall provides some breathtaking backdrops for ceremonies and photos. In this post, I chose to feature two fall weddings, I have photographed, that really highlight the splendor of our local fall season.
The first couple featured in this post is Talia and Mark. They were married in October 2021, at Aria Event Center. The nearby Stone Arch Bridge provided a beautiful background for their couple portraits (pictured above). Unfortunately, Aria recently sold their space to a new owner, so they are no longer booking weddings, but downtown Minneapolis still offers many beautiful wedding venues, in the area, such as Minneapolis Event Centers, Nicollet Island Pavilion, and Day Block Event Center.
This post wouldn’t be complete without adding a photo of Talia, who was a stunning bride. She wore a trumpet style gown with a cathedral length veil. Her bridesmaids wore lavender gowns and carried bouquets that featured lavender roses. The photo below has the addition of brightly colored fallen leaves, once again, showcasing the beauty of fall.
Meghan and Nathan’s wedding also took place in October, 2021, at Leopold’s Mississippi Garden’s Event Center, in Minneapolis (this breathtaking view of Mississippi River pictured below, is from the balcony at the event center).
Meghan and Nathan both looked amazing, and the reflection of the trees, on the river, with their leaves turning color, made for the perfect setting for wedding (and wedding photos).
So if these pictures haven’t sold you on the idea of a fall wedding, I’ll remind you that fall is less humid, you might be able to save some money, you will have more wardrobe options, fall colors look amazing and so will your photos! With that being said, any season is perfect for a wedding, as long as you are marrying your best friend and you are surrounded by those you love! I just like to remind people that options exist, and weddings are not just for summer, even in Minnesota!
