I’ve photographed and written about Lane, Quinn and Daisy Loo quite a few times, and I feel lucky that I have been able to! Daisy Loo, an English Bulldog was one of my first pet sitting clients and Lane and her family were one of my first photography clients. Daisy Loo is an incredible pup. She is very gentle with, and protective of, her human sisters, aged one and four.
Britt and Rebecca (Mom and Dad) added Daisy Loo to the family before they had they had children so the girls have never known their home without Daisy Loo. Having a pet around the house is good for everyone, well, provided you are not allergic to them! Pets provide unconditional love, companionship and they help keep families active. Children can learn responsibility by helping to take care of family pets as well. One quick important tip, if you choose to get a dog, it is important to think about getting a dog breed that will match your family’s style. For instance, if you hate longs walks it’s best not to choose a breed that needs a lot of exercise.
Okay, back to Lane, Quinn and Daisy Loo. I love to photograph children, as well as pets, so I usually get some solo shots of the kids. Lane and Quinn were playing during some downtime when I captured this moment, which is one of my favorite shots from this session. Quinn is one and quite a trooper. She keeps up with big sis pretty well or at least holds her up pretty well!
I also snapped a few solo shots of Lane. She is in that cute phase where many kids have their signature poses when they know they are being photographed. I like to let kids just go with their posing when they are aware I am photographing them. I usually get some cute shots. Inevitably, there will be a moment in between the posing, when they forget they are being photographed, where I will get a beautiful candid.
An oddly warm late fall day at sunset, kids, and a sweet pup. What more could a photographer want? This was a really fun thirty minute shoot and I love the photo below with Lane’s little arm wrapped around Daisy. Precious!
It is always a treat to photograph Daisy Loo and her humans. I say this often, about all my clients, but it really is such a treat to be a momentary part of the families I photograph.
